The information given is that a wave is sent though a wire with the frequency of 200 hz, and tarvles 500 m/s. A lighter witre is attached and the wave slows down to 400 m/s. Is it a higher or lighter medium?
I want to say lighter as the wavelength is decreeased, meaning it has a figher...
However, the second question may not have anything to do with hooke's law at all. It may just be F= 1 over 2pi Sqrt g over L
But I am unsure if g is to be used based on Earth's speed of gravity or if I am on the right track at all.
well based on some information I found, the square root of the mass over K is equal to the equation of L over g. If all things are reletive then, I should be able to switch it as i would when finding frequency.
What formula should I use for this question? I'm thinking hook's law, but It doesn't seem to fit.
A mass is attached to a spring that has a constant of 100 N/m. The mass vibrates with a frequency of 2 Hz.
I have to find the value of the mass and how far it streaches. I know I can use...
I am studying for a test based on concepts and defintions of wave terms. Please help me define the following:
Cycle
Frequency
Resonance
Sympathetic vibration
Timbre
The definitions or a site where I can find many definitions of those terms would be greatly appricated.
Thanks.
I have a mid-term coming up on physics. Oh, I can handle forces, a 2 body diagram, gravitational acceleration just fine.
Then there are the vectors. Evil little things.
In any case, I need help on studing them. If you could provide me with some good info on how to deal with them in varius...
Here's the problem:
Phobos and Deimos 2 satalites of mars, ahve orbits with average radii of 9380km and 23500km respectivly.
The period of Phobos is .319 Earth days. Whats is the period of Demos?
I ahve it set up like this:
Rp=9380
RD=23500
Pp=.319
Pd=?
and i know (Ta\Tb)sq'ed...
Alright here's the problem. An object that has 20 grams of mass and is siwnging horizontally with a 2 meter ratius. it makes 10 rotations within 12 seconds.
the question is How many times faster would the stopper have to be spun to increase the tention of the string by a factor of 4...
I am not getting forces at all. I 'm not sure of what to do. Here's the question:
A box is resting on a flat surface. The box has a mass of 20KG and a force of 200N is pushing the box to the right. The force of friction acting on the box is 100 N to the left. What is the acceleration of the...
