Waterproofing Lectures for Electronic Products: Notes and Resources

Thank you for your response. My product is in the final design phase. The part I need to waterproof is the remote control for a bath lift which will house an arduino micro controller, a battery, and a couple of buttons. I will need to specify the waterproofing methods I have implemented as well...

Waterproofing Lectures for Electronic Products: Notes and Resources

Hi! Does anyone know where I'd be able to find good notes/ lectures on waterproofing? Specifically for electronic products, if possible? Please provide me with some links if so. Many thanks

Rack and pinion, motor selection method

I have a mechanism to counter the vertical axis force, the job of the rack and pinion will solely be to drive the load. The acceleration time is not an issue in this situation, but can be taken as a minimum of 1s for convenience.

Rack and pinion, motor selection method

I have found a product with a similar rack and pinion application as mine. http://www.drivemedical.co.uk/files/7166f659-8323-4de9-abab-a07800edfd41/bellavita_maintenance.pdf How would I go about calculating the gear ratios for the reduction gears based on the speed I want the pinion to move at...

Rack and pinion, motor selection method

Hi! I'm stuck on a very basic problem while trying to design a product. Basically, I need to know how to calculate the gear ratios, pitch, motor specs etc for two rack and pinion mechanisms- one horizontal and one vertical. The pinion moves along the rack in both situations. Mass to be moved-...

Can anyone provide information on how conveyor rails work for incline movement?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone had any links or information to how conveyor rails work? Basically, I'm designing a product that would require a chair to move up and down an incline. I'd like to place it on a powered conveyor rail, but need more information on the mechanics and can't find any...

Best way to lift weight using mechanical arm

Hi! Thanks for your reply. I do appreciate your help, but I am not looking for design advice anymore. I have thought of all these situations. The scope of my project, however, extends beyond a sliding chair. I have also taken costs in mind, but the product I am to design will be quite...

Best way to lift weight using mechanical arm

Hi! Thanks for your reply. The product that I'm designing needs to go beyond simple aids like the bath lift and the swivel chair. It's aimed more at someone who would have to consider installing a wet room to use a shower chair. Th project started off to improve upon the existing shower chairs...

Best way to lift weight using mechanical arm

Hi! For my finally year design project, I intend to try and solve the problems with existing shower bathing aids for the elderly and disabled. I won't go into details of what problems and how, etc, but I will give you an overview of the mechanism I intend to use. My product is essentially...
