    Probability of A Between B & C in 8-Person Line

There are 8 people in a line to see a movie. A,B,C are in the line. What is the probability that A is in between B and C? (I can explain more, but don't want to throw in too much to confuse). BTW there is 8 people in the line.

What Formula Applies to a Boxer's Punch?

But in car crashes aren't we taught that if you double the speed the damage will be 4x greater?

What Formula Applies to a Boxer's Punch?

But doesn't the 1/2 x m x v^2 equation help understand it better? Because it tells that V is much more important than M? I don't think F=MA really shows that, especially to people who I wouldn't expect to be too good at physics. Even I don't see that so obviously when looking at the F=MA...

What Formula Applies to a Boxer's Punch?

In physics class our teacher taught us that EK is to do with inflicting damage on stuff.

What Formula Applies to a Boxer's Punch?

I think P is momentum. ^_^ Just ah... hmm ... hard to explain if you don't get it... :(

What Formula Applies to a Boxer's Punch?

Yeah I figured as much. But what are the things trying to be found? Force? that has the units KGms^-2. So it tells the acceleration of the mass away from its initial location. P=ms^-1 that is just the speed it moves away from its initial location. EK... energy, joules. hm...?

What Formula Applies to a Boxer's Punch?

f=ma p=mv ek=1/2 x m x v^2Not exactly homework, but some guys on the net are wondering about what formula to use for a boxer throwing a punch. I know its the EK one. But some dude said F=MA and I don't have a clue how to explain he is wrong. Also I've just been doing this stuff (linear motion)...

Physics resit soon help a VERY simple graph problem

physics resit soon! help please! a VERY simple graph problem This is physics from the last year of high school. So think of me as being about 17ish or 18ish. The exam/test thing is for uncertainty. It will involve graphs.I have to express one thing from a graph in terms of another involving...
