Re the weak principle. The irony is that humans fail miserably at this. We don't observe the reality of matter and energy...the essence of existence. Our senses and evolved physical brain are mired in a fraction if a fraction of being able to perceive and conceive of reality both in the...
Many outside of the sciences don't understand that very essential point. Science is a tool to explain. The particular details of science are constantly being superseded.
Not at all. Describing the effect of a force is not the same as understanding what it is. Newtonian physics can describe many phenomenon without smidgeon of knowledge of particle physics. It is still science. Science is a methodology of gaining knowledge and not an end game.
Interesting question.
Just a note. Nobody knows what gravity is. It is represented or evidenced by a curvature in space time rather than 'is' a curvature.
Gravity is still an unknown force and thus why it is the Holy Grail of physics to come up with a theory that explains both General...
The issue with fine tuning, is that it assumes that 'life' is somehow a special entity. It isn't. Biology is chemistry and chemistry is physics...matter and energy.
A carbon molecule has the same properties whether it is part of a supernova explosion or in a human brain. Life is just a...
As a geologist I would say the northern part of The Canadian Shield. Most stable geology. Climate stable. Cold weather tends to limit biological issues.
Just remember your mitts.
OP that's a great question.
In geology we often use analogy and it usually has little value. In fact it often provides a false understandings of time, size, quantity, etc.
'There are as many stars as there are grains of sand in the ocean'. No there isn't. Add or subtract a couple of...
