Reflection and Transmission (Waves in strings)

Perhaps using the a sine function and v(wavespeed)=lambda/T(period) we could determine the wavespeed by inputing Pi/2 for T and 50ms for lambda?

Reflection and Transmission (Waves in strings)

Homework Statement Two copper wires, one 1.0 mm in diameter and 1.0 m long, the other 2.0 mm in diameter and 2.0 m long, are joined together end-to-end and hung vertically. In order to tension this compound wire, a block is suspended from it. It is found that a transverse pulse takes 50...

SHM - mass-spring system on frictionless horizontal surface

Sorry it took so long to answer. Having the amplitude equal 25cm, I am thinking it is located 25cm from the equilibrium, and thus 30cm from the starting point would be 5cm from the equilibrium?

SHM - mass-spring system on frictionless horizontal surface

Homework Statement A 250 g block is resting on a frictionless horizontal surface. The block is attached to a spring. The mass-spring system is compressed by a 2.5 N force and then released from rest. (a) The resulting oscillation has a 1.0 s period. What is the spring constant? (b) What is...

Simple Pendulum Homework: Amplitude of 25 cm/s Push

Homework Statement A pendulum consists of a 500 g bob at the end of a massless 75 cm rod. (a) While it is hanging vertically down, the bob is given a push that starts it moving at 25 cm/s. What is the amplitude of the resulting oscillation in degrees? You may neglect damping...
