Calculate Distance Above Earth's Surface: 1.4x Radius
I assume its a ratio...in the back of the text the answer is 1.4 Re (r subscript e...Radius earth) I'm not sure what it means or its significance:frown: .- Vesper89

Calculate Distance Above Earth's Surface: 1.4x Radius
At a certain distance above the surface of the Earth, the graviational force on an object is reduced to 18% of its value at Earth's surface. Determine this distance and express it as a multiple of Earth's radius. FYI the Earth's mass is 5.98x10^24 kg and the Earth's radius is 6.38x10^6 m...- Vesper89

What Forces Act on a Ball Bearing Moving Through Oil?
It means it has no acceleration...try figuring out all the forces that are acting on the ball and work from there.- Vesper89

How Does Radius Affect Centripetal Force in Your Experiment?
I think that helped. I have the equation Fc=4п²rf² (which is the same as Fc=mw²r). I think the main reason we were having difficulty was because our data isn't very accurate. Anyway, thanks.- Vesper89

Solve Rocket Accelration Problem: 90m/s2, 2km-s
You don't need the time at all... You do know that V1= 0 m/s (use V2²= V1² + 2aΔd)- Vesper89

How Does Radius Affect Centripetal Force in Your Experiment?
We're doing a lab on centripetal force where we swing a mass on a string over our heads. The string passes through a glass sleeve and has masses suspended at the bottom of the string like this...http://www.batesville.k12.in.us/Physics/PhyNet/Mechanics/Circular%20Motion/labs/cf_and_speed.htm"...- Vesper89
