What is Load calculation: Definition and 17 Discussions

In electrical engineering, a load profile is a graph of the variation in the electrical load versus time. A load profile will vary according to customer type (typical examples include residential, commercial and industrial), temperature and holiday seasons. Power producers use this information to plan how much electricity they will need to make available at any given time. Teletraffic engineering uses a similar load curve.

Newbie needs help with angle iron load calculation

I am trying to decide on the material and dimensions for the rail. The rails are supported on either side of a 10ft span. -- What dimension steel angle can carry a 200lb load across a 10ft span? a=? b=? c=? -- What dimension aluminum angle can carry a 200lb load across a 10ft span? a=? b=? c=?

Calculating 208V load, purpose of sqrt(3) and power factor?

Hi all, a pretty simple question. I want to be able to calculate the load on a 100amp 3 phase service. As an example if I have 9 lighting fixtures that are rated @ 11 amps 208v each (auto ranging 200-240v actually but service will be 3 phase so 208v ish) Putting evenly across each leg x,y,z...

    Car Port post load calculation

Good day everyone. I have built a car port post in an inverted L shape and want to calculate the load that it can support. I think I have “over-killed” the posts enough. I am curious to see how much weight this structure could hold. Any way of calculating the load at the area which...
