Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around a unique 48-cylinder motorcycle, exploring its design, functionality, and the motivations behind its creation. Participants express curiosity about its performance, particularly regarding fuel efficiency and power delivery.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • Some participants express interest in the motorcycle's design and functionality, noting its unusual appearance.
  • Questions are raised about the motorcycle's fuel efficiency, with one participant inquiring specifically about gas consumption.
  • Concerns are voiced regarding the operational efficiency of the engine, with speculation that only half of the cylinders may be firing.
  • There is a suggestion that the project may be more about novelty than practicality, with one participant commenting on the time and resources spent on such a build.
  • Another participant humorously suggests that the motorcycle could be modified to fly, indicating skepticism about its intended use.
  • One participant doubts the motorcycle's power output, pointing out the use of a BMW motorcycle gearbox, which may limit its performance.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally express skepticism about the motorcycle's practicality and performance, but there is no consensus on its potential effectiveness or the motivations behind its construction.

Contextual Notes

Participants' claims about the motorcycle's engine performance and efficiency are based on observations and assumptions that may not be fully substantiated.

Yeah, but how is it on gas?

Looking at the manifold i bet only half the cylinders even fire up.

From the files of guys with too much time and money on their hands...

It does look kind of funny though. Props for figuring out how to do it so it works.

And a new world record for persistence in carbeurator synchronization.

Good God almighty! Why would someone even want to build such a thing?
Slap on a propeller and wings and that beast would fly.

I doubt if that thing ever delivered any serious power, note he is using a
bmw motorbike gearbox to drive it.
