I've seen stories recently in the media about active volcanoes in the US and its territories.
There are about 169 active volcanoes in the US and its territories, but most have low levels of activity and are unlikely to 'erupt'. Some however are erupting or likely to erupt in the near future.

Three others potentially to erupt are Ahyi (in the Northern Mariana Islands, a US territory) and the Axial Seamount (off the coast of Oregon).

The Axial Seamount (Northern Pacific Ocean, off Oregon Coast)
https://environment.uw.edu/news/202...underwater-volcano-is-getting-ready-to-erupt/Three hundred miles off the coast of Oregon and more than 4,900 feet below the surface of the Pacific Ocean, one of the Pacific Northwest’s least famous — but most active — volcanoes is showing signs that it will soon erupt for the first time since 2015.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axial_SeamountIn December of 2024, researchers at the annual American Geophysical Union conference shared some exciting news: Axial Seamount was well on its way to an eruption, possibly before the end of 2025.
