Airship Rotating Earth: Can it be Done?

AI Thread Summary
An airship cannot rotate the Earth without power, as it would need to maintain a specific orbit. If the airship is powered and can make flight path corrections, it could theoretically influence its orbit's shape within physical limits. The discussion includes complex equations related to mechanical and kinetic energy, but the initial premise focuses on the airship's ability to affect Earth's rotation. The conversation also touches on the implications of elliptical versus circular orbits. Overall, the feasibility of an airship rotating the Earth remains highly speculative and constrained by physical laws.

Can an airship rotate the Earth and the Earth is not in eliptical orbit's focus ?(can be in center?)

If the airship is not powered, no, with the exception that a circular orbit will have the Earth at the center.

If the airship has some power to make flight path corrections, it could do anything it wants as far as the shape of the orbit, within physical limits.

ok so, I read that mechanical energy(E): E=-MmG/R
R=(a+b)/2
a-semi-major axis
b-semi-minor axis
,of course kinetical Ek=mv^2/2
m-spaceship weight
Ep=-mMG/r
v^2/2-MG/r=-2MG/(a+b)
and
a-sqrt(a^2-b^2)=<r=<a+sqrt(a^2-b^2)
and v^2 for some r is less than 0
M>>m

TL;DR Summary: In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation. In case of failure to detect alien signals, it will further expand the radius of the so-called silence (or rather, radio silence) of the Universe. Is there any sense in this or is blissful ignorance better? In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation. Thread 'Could gamma-ray bursts have an intragalactic origin?'
This is indirectly evidenced by a map of the distribution of gamma-ray bursts in the night sky, made in the form of an elongated globe. And also the weakening of gamma radiation by the disk and the center of the Milky Way, which leads to anisotropy in the possibilities of observing gamma-ray bursts. My line of reasoning is as follows: 1. Gamma radiation should be absorbed to some extent by dust and other components of the interstellar medium. As a result, with an extragalactic origin, fewer...
This thread is dedicated to the beauty and awesomeness of our Universe. If you feel like it, please share video clips and photos (or nice animations) of space and objects in space in this thread. Your posts, clips and photos may by all means include scientific information; that does not make it less beautiful to me (n.b. the posts must of course comply with the PF guidelines, i.e. regarding science, only mainstream science is allowed, fringe/pseudoscience is not allowed). n.b. I start this...
