Am I the only one feeling dumb and stupid here?!! :p

Since I've joined this forum yesterday I've overwhelmed by the amount of info here and I felt kinda dumb really :/
I don't know if it's because everything I was taught was in Arabic or because I'm dumb or maybe just because I'm a normal 18 year old guy among engineers and scientists
So am I alone here? :p

I was drinking, smoking and doing mischief when I was 18 and would have labelled all people in this forum just flatout Nerds.. typical I'd say. I think you're doing fantastic.

    Welcome aboard

No worries, we share the same feelings. I'm not sure about your fish preference though.. So, what's your favorite fish, Abdul?

Nothing wrong with it, it's the cooked part of it that's wrong. We need it.. Stiff.

I feel stupid because everyone here says calculus is vital to physics, and most of the physics I've done is trying my best to avoid using calculus.

If only I could understand the fish talk :p
See I told I wasn't very smart

Fish don't talk, so there is nothing to understand.

I thought only the occasional crackpot feels smart around here.

Not even the crackpots feel smart here- only the salmon. It got away.

    Crackpots are RIGHT, not smart.

Ignore most of the forum - you'll find fairly rapidly that you can't keep up with the posting volume and you certainly can't understand the full range of topics under discussion (well - I can't...). Find the fora that are relevant to you (the ones you want to understand) and stick to them.

If you can handle even only a fraction of this forum in a language that isn't your first one, you aren't dumb. I'm barely qualified to tend bar in my second language.

Calculus is vital to understanding physics and it makes introductory physics much simpler but you don't, NEED calculus for entry level physics.

    I'm pretty sure it's a common feeling.
