SUMMARY

This forum discussion revolves around the feelings of inadequacy experienced by a new member, Abdul, who feels overwhelmed by the technical discussions among seasoned engineers and scientists. The conversation highlights the commonality of such feelings, especially among younger individuals entering complex fields like physics and engineering. Participants emphasize that while calculus is important for understanding physics, it is not strictly necessary for entry-level physics. The community encourages Abdul to engage with relevant topics and reassures him that he is not alone in feeling this way.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of physics concepts
  • Familiarity with calculus fundamentals
  • Ability to engage in online forum discussions
  • Knowledge of the English language for technical discussions
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the role of calculus in physics education
  • Explore introductory physics resources that do not require calculus
  • Join forums focused on aeronautics and engineering topics
  • Learn about effective communication in online communities
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for new students in physics or engineering, individuals feeling overwhelmed in technical forums, and anyone seeking to improve their confidence in discussing complex scientific topics.

You must suffer in suspense for a while, until an authorized judge here at PF determines what sentence you will be given, according to your stated fish preference ..

It depends on how you feel about it once your sentence is carried out.

Certainly. PF has even obtained a fatwa from the Al Azhar University in Cairo that our sentencing is perfectly halal.

Keeping in mind that the last time someone stated their preference as the Megalodon he had to be slapped with salmon because of unavailability (which had unfortunately been cooked and hence made a mess) I have decided due to technical difficulties not to slap you with the Megalodon and instead I will smash you with it ...

Well you're currently in a place where people spend their free time doing physics and science, what else can you expect other than a bunch of nuts?

Granted.

But, since your deserved sentence does not involve DEAD fish (not to speak of whether it is to be eaten or not), they had to dig really deep into the appendices of Bukhari and Sahih Muslim to come up with their opinion.

Or, as the divines at Al Azhar put it in their fatwa:
"Our Prophet (PBUH) fully endorsed harmless fun as one of many ways to create a harmonious sense of fellowship among the Believers"

That Megalodon had been dead for centuries- no need to cook or cut anything...congratulations you now smell of rotten fish.

ACTUALLY, no rotting stink is attached to our megalodons. they have all been transformed into clean stone, prior to smacking initiates with them (this is contained as an explicit command in the caveat 3b.2 in the above-mentioned fatwa. Harmless fun must not involve stinking matters).
