SUMMARY

The discussion centers around the difficulty level of the "Problems and Solutions in Introductory Mechanics" by David Morin, specifically the baby version of his work. Users express that even multiple-choice questions require significant contemplation, often exceeding five minutes per question. Morin's website indicates that these problems are categorized as one or two-star questions from his 2008 edition of "Intro to Classical Mechanics." Participants suggest that sharing specific problems may lead to collaborative solutions and faster problem-solving techniques.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of classical mechanics principles
  • Familiarity with problem-solving strategies in physics
  • Basic knowledge of the Morin textbook series
  • Experience with multiple-choice question formats in physics
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore advanced problem-solving techniques in classical mechanics
  • Review the 2008 edition of "Intro to Classical Mechanics" by David Morin
  • Participate in online forums focused on physics problem-solving
  • Practice with additional resources for introductory mechanics questions
USEFUL FOR

Students of physics, educators teaching classical mechanics, and anyone seeking to enhance their problem-solving skills in introductory mechanics.

I have been going through the baby version of the Morin Intro to Classical Mech book, "Problems and solutions in introductory mechanics." Each question, even some/quite a lot of multiple choice, is making me think upwards of 5 minutes and reconsider whether I know what I think I know. Was wondering whether this book is meant to actually be difficult, and whether there is any way for me to solve these introductory mechanics questions faster, or if I am going fine.

Morin states on his website that these questions are like one/two star questions in his 2008 Intro to Classical Mech red book.

If you post a couple with your solutions others may be able to help you find quicker ways.
