SUMMARY

The best practice for extracting images from Molden is to avoid using the software's built-in features, such as the Print Screen function, which is inefficient. Instead, users should utilize Jmol, a powerful tool for molecular visualization, available at http://jmol.sourceforge.net/. Jmol provides superior functionality for capturing high-quality images compared to Molden.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with molecular visualization software
  • Basic understanding of image extraction techniques
  • Knowledge of Jmol features and capabilities
  • Experience with using web-based applications for scientific purposes
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore Jmol's advanced image capture features
  • Learn how to customize visualizations in Jmol
  • Research best practices for scientific image presentation
  • Investigate alternative molecular visualization tools
USEFUL FOR

Scientists, researchers, and educators who require high-quality molecular images for presentations, publications, or educational materials will benefit from this discussion.

Just curious what the best way to pull off an image from Molden is? To me it seems that Print Screen is a bit of a silly way to do it; any suggestions?

It's the icon that looks like a camera. But really, don't use Molden for that, it's horrible.
Try http://jmol.sourceforge.net/" instead.
