AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around the lack of proper responses in the Physics Forums (PF) for bioinformatics-related queries. Users express a need for a dedicated forum for bioinformatics, highlighting that questions about common software like DOCK and KEGG often go unanswered. It is suggested that inquiries related to biology or chemistry should be posted in specific forums dedicated to those subjects rather than in technology or software sections, as they may not attract the attention of knowledgeable users. There is also a call for expanding the Other Sciences forums to better accommodate specialized topics in bioinformatics. Links to relevant threads are shared, indicating a desire for more focused discussions within the community.

I still didnt get any responses for some threads started by me relating DOCK, KEGG, ... etc ... which are very common softwares ...

Ok I see now, I looked them up. I'd advice any question specifically related to biology or chemistry to be posted in these two forums and not the technology or software forums, since the questions are specialized and escaped the attention of the ones who know about it most  sorry about that. I'm thinking we need some expansion to the Other Sciences forums to accommodate these things.

Thread 'Did they discover another descendant of homo erectus?'
The study provides critical new insights into the African Humid Period, a time between 14,500 and 5,000 years ago when the Sahara desert was a green savanna, rich in water bodies that facilitated human habitation and the spread of pastoralism. Later aridification turned this region into the world's largest desert. Due to the extreme aridity of the region today, DNA preservation is poor, making this pioneering ancient DNA study all the more significant. Genomic analyses reveal that the...
Whenever these opiods are mentioned they usually mention that e.g. fentanyl is "50 times stronger than heroin" and "100 times stronger than morphine". Now it's nitazene which the public is told is everything from "much stronger than heroin" and "200 times stronger than fentany"! Do these numbers make sense at all? How do they arrive at them? Kill thousands of mice? En passant: nitazene have already been found in both Oxycontin pills and in street "heroin" here, so Naloxone is more...
