The problem is that these books seem to superficial and don't use a lot of physics after all (at least is what I think from the reviews)
Why are you recommending a book you haven't read?

Oh, got it.
Read Adair, The Physics of Baseball. It started off the physics of sports trend, and is well written. Helps if you are a baseball fan, of course.
