AI Thread Summary
A bright flashlight emitting white light may not effectively disperse colors through a prism if not positioned correctly. Users suggest intensifying the light and minimizing other light sources to enhance the effect. Holding the prism at unconventional angles can also yield better results than those indicated in instructions. Additionally, confining the light beam using a slit can improve color separation. Experimenting with angles and light intensity is key to achieving the desired rainbow effect.

I have a little prism and I have a bright flashlight the emits white light
and when I shine the flash light into the prism it does not break it up into the colors of the rainbow , any suggestions , I have tried from all angles .

I have the same problem, my prism still kinda sucks by try intensifying the amount of light you put in, also turn out all the lights accept the one your using.

I finally got it to work I had to hold it at a weird angle and it defiantly was not the angle
that hey showed in the instructions.

Try confining the incident ray to a narrow beam by use of a slit. The angle does make a difference so mess around with it and enjoy it.

k thanks
