The discussion centers on whether chemistry can be fully explained by physics, suggesting that chemistry may be a specialized branch of physics rather than a separate discipline. Participants highlight the relationship between physical chemistry and quantum mechanics, emphasizing that many chemical phenomena can be understood through physical principles. However, the complexity and emergent properties of chemical systems indicate that chemistry encompasses more than just physics. The conversation also touches on the limitations of purely physical explanations in capturing the nuances of chemical behavior. Overall, the debate reflects the intricate interplay between chemistry and physics in understanding matter and its interactions.

Can all of Chemistry be explained by Physics?

in other words, is chemistry just a specific field of macro level physics?

Ive always assumed so, but I wouldn't call it macro only. P Chem is very micro.
