SUMMARY

The forum discussion centers on verifying the calculation of centripetal force in a physics problem. The user presented a diagram and component setup but encountered issues with their final calculations. A fellow participant identified specific errors in the user's calculation of T2, noting the omission of the mg/root 3 term and the 1/2 factor in the denominator. This feedback highlights the importance of meticulousness in mathematical problem-solving within physics.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of centripetal force concepts
  • Familiarity with free body diagrams
  • Basic algebra and trigonometry skills
  • Knowledge of tension in physics
NEXT STEPS
  • Review the principles of centripetal force calculations
  • Study free body diagram techniques for complex systems
  • Practice solving tension problems in circular motion
  • Learn about common errors in physics problem-solving

I don't know if my ΣFin is correct I am having trouble setting it up. Can you check if the new diagram and the component setup is right?

looks very good except at the very end you made a couple of math errors when solving for T2( forgot to subtract out the mg/root 3 term and the 1/2 factor in the denominator was overlooked. ).
