SUMMARY

Drained AA and AAA batteries cannot be recharged and have limited resale value. The primary options for these batteries include recycling, which may be free or incur a cost. In cases where a significant quantity is available, they may be sold as scrap metal, provided they contain recyclable materials. Overall, profit from drained batteries is minimal and largely dependent on local recycling policies.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of battery recycling processes
  • Knowledge of local waste management regulations
  • Familiarity with scrap metal markets
  • Awareness of environmental impacts of battery disposal
NEXT STEPS
  • Research local battery recycling facilities and their policies

  • Learn about the environmental regulations regarding battery disposal
  • Explore alternative uses for drained batteries in DIY projects

Hello folks,

I have stored a whole bunch of drained AA, AAA and D batteries. They cannot be recharged. I was wondering if there is any way to sell them or utilize them for profit.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know of a way. Best case, you can find a place to recycle them near you where it is free. Worst case, you pay to recycle them.

Well if you had a mountain of them, you could sell them as scrap metal. If there was any metal in them.
