CAT3- CAT6 differences in category of cable

For general information, I would like to explain the differences between CAT3- CAT6 cabling. If you were to lay a twisted pair of any cabling, you would find that the twists per inch matched the category. CAT3; 3 twists per inch. CAT6; 6 twists per inch etc... Then is the issue of CATe cable. This is an enhanced cable with slightly larger diameter of copper, and more insulation. I was an outside field technician for the telephone company for 9 years and also Time Warner for 3 years. I just thought it important since there was no concrete conclusion to the last thread covering this subject. If any questions or remarks i welcome them. Also happen to be quite versed in fiber and coaxial.
