Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around resources for understanding the concept of relativity in physics, particularly aimed at someone who is new to the topic and struggling with explanations from their teacher. The focus is on finding accessible websites and videos that can aid in comprehension.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Conceptual clarification, Homework-related

Main Points Raised

  • One participant expresses confusion about relativity and seeks recommendations for online resources that explain the topic in simpler terms.
  • Several participants provide links to various websites that cover relativity, suggesting they may be useful for someone with limited background knowledge.
  • One participant notes that while some resources are less technical, they may still be beneficial, but also expresses uncertainty about the original poster's background knowledge.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally agree on the need for accessible resources, but there is no consensus on the suitability of specific sites for the original poster's level of understanding.

Contextual Notes

There is a lack of information regarding the original poster's prior knowledge of physics, which may affect the appropriateness of the suggested resources.

We just started talking about it at school, and naturally i have no idea what the teachers talking about!

I was wondering if there are any good websites/videos online that explain it? Id be asking for a bit too much for a direct explantion from the physics buffs here :D

cheeeers.

The least technical site I know of about relativity which still might be useful:

If you have the background the other sites mentioned are good, but since you are having trouble understanding your teacher I suspect you may not have the background to understand them, either :-(. (I don't know for sure, of course, since I don't have any real idea of what your background is).
