SUMMARY

Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate does not dissolve in diesel fuel, as confirmed by forum member HarryA. Ionic salts, including Copper Sulfate, are not soluble in non-polar solvents like diesel. For those seeking alternatives, exploring other copper-based chemicals that may dissolve in diesel is recommended.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of chemical solubility principles
  • Familiarity with diesel fuel properties
  • Knowledge of wood preservation techniques
  • Basic chemistry of ionic compounds
NEXT STEPS
  • Research alternative copper-based chemicals for wood preservation
  • Investigate the solubility of various ionic compounds in non-polar solvents
  • Learn about the formulation of wood preservatives using diesel fuel
  • Explore the environmental impact of using diesel in chemical formulations
USEFUL FOR

Wood preservation specialists, chemical formulators, and anyone interested in the interaction of ionic compounds with non-polar solvents.

Hello all,

In interested making a wood preservative using diesel fuel,
paraffin plus an algaeicide.

I am wondering if Copper Sulfate Pentahydrarte will dissolve
in diesel fuel?

If not are there other copper chemicals that may?

thanks in advance,
HarryA
