The user experienced issues with their key script not functioning in edit mode, which they considered a significant disadvantage. They noted that the shortcuts, such as 'ctrl+m' for '\longmapsto', worked in other applications but not in their current editor. After testing in different browsers, they found the problem persisted in Chrome. A machine restart eventually resolved the issue, leading to confusion about why it only affected Chrome. The discussion highlights potential browser-related glitches impacting user functionality.

Is there a reason I cannot use my key script in edit mode anymore? This would be a massive disadvantage!

Anyway: my programmed shortcuts don't apply anymore. E.g. 'ctrl+m' for '\longmapsto'. And yes, it is not a local problem since it works in notepad and other script editors, however, not here as I am writing this.

I observed while checking other editors that it does not work in Chrome. I will check Opera.

Damn Google.

Sorry,

I take back all I said and claim the opposite.

It works again after a restart of the machine. But what the heck was it, that worked everywhere except on Chrome?

Hello everyone, I recently revisited Physics Forums after a long hiatus (about 4-5 years) and started catching up on the recent discussions. What immediately struck me—and what inspired this thread—is seeing so many of the exact same user names in the "Latest Posts" section who were just as active when I was last here! To the dedicated, long-term, and continuously active members of this community: What keeps you coming back and contributing regularly after all this time? Is it the joy...
