A user encountered an issue with a large MS Word document, originally 80 pages and 800k in size, resulting in a PDF conversion that ballooned to over 6M. The discussion focused on whether this size increase was typical and sought solutions for proper PDF conversion. A suggestion was made to use OpenOffice's built-in PDF exporter, which the user confirmed worked effectively, resolving the size issue.

I have an MS Word document which is about 80 pages long and 800k large. I had a friend convert it to a PDF for me but it came out to be over 6M large. Is that size to be expected? If not then how do I convert this to a PDF file corrrectly?

Thanks

Pete
