my question is. what is the difference between the thermal motion and the drift velocity, how r they both created in a conductor . hope someone will answer it in a detailed manner.

Thermal motion is the random agitation of charge carriers, at very high speeds. Drift is their very slow very slight average motion that we know as current flow.

is the thermal motion the irregular motion of conduction electrons in the conductor; when there is no electric field applied to it.
