AI Thread Summary
A project is underway to create a database of application statistics for undergraduate engineering students, aimed at assisting future applicants. The creator is seeking participation in a survey from current or prospective engineering students who have received their admissions results. It is emphasized that the survey is brief, taking no more than five minutes, and participants can omit any information they prefer not to share due to potential public availability. The thread title has been criticized for incorrectly referring to "engineers" instead of "engineering students," which could mislead the target audience. The creator acknowledges the error and is advised to contact a moderator for a title change.

Hey,

For the last couple days I've been working on a project to create a database of application statistics/details of undergraduate engineering students to help future engineering applicants. I'm now at the point where I need to start collecting data for the database! If you're a current or prospective engineering applicant and have already received your admissions results from universities then I would be over the moon if you could take this survey for me (it won't take more than 5 minutes).

Please bear in mind that the information you give could eventually become publicly available, so if you don't want to provide certain information then feel free to leave it out.

Thanks a million!

The title of the thread should refer to "engineering students" and not "engineers". The title is drawing in engineers and wasting their time and it is shunning the students you are trying to attract to your survey.

Ah damn, that was an accidental error. I would change the title myself but it appears that it can only be done by a moderator.

Yes, I believe that is true. You should try to contact one and see if they can change it for you.

Hi all, I have a question. So from the derivation of the Isentropic process relationship PV^gamma = constant, there is a step dW = PdV, which can only be said for quasi-equilibrium (or reversible) processes. As such I believe PV^gamma = constant (and the family of equations) should not be applicable to just adiabatic processes? Ie, it should be applicable only for adiabatic + reversible = isentropic processes? However, I've seen couple of online notes/books, and...
I have an engine that uses a dry sump oiling system. The oil collection pan has three AN fittings to use for scavenging. Two of the fittings are approximately on the same level, the third is about 1/2 to 3/4 inch higher than the other two. The system ran for years with no problem using a three stage pump (one pressure and two scavenge stages). The two scavenge stages were connected at times to any two of the three AN fittings on the tank. Recently I tried an upgrade to a four stage pump...
