Experimental result for induced pluripotent cells

AI Thread Summary
Recent discussions highlight the advancements in cellular reprogramming, particularly in the induction of pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). The foundational work by Shinya Yamanaka, recognized as a pioneer in this field, is crucial for understanding the mechanisms behind iPSC generation. The 2007 review article by Yamanaka provides a comprehensive overview of early findings and methodologies. However, the field has progressed significantly since then, with newer publications offering insights into refined techniques and applications of iPSCs. Notable recent studies include those published in Science and Nature, which detail improved protocols for generating iPSCs and their potential therapeutic uses. These advancements underscore the dynamic nature of stem cell research and the ongoing exploration of iPSC capabilities in regenerative medicine.

Hi guys, can you guys point to me what are the recent experimental results that show that cells can be induced to make a pluripotent cells?

The citation for a review article by Shinya Yamanaka, the father of the field of cellular reprogramming:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18024106

The article should point out the important papers in the field of iPS cells as well as discuss what has been accomplished already.

thanks for your reference!

That reference is from 2007, that's ancient in stem cell terms

I've been reading a bunch of articles in this month's Scientific American on Alzheimer's and ran across this article in a web feed that I subscribe to. The SA articles that I've read so far have touched on issues with the blood-brain barrier but this appears to be a novel approach to the problem - fix the exit ramp and the brain clears out the plaques. https://www.sciencealert.com/new-alzheimers-treatment-clears-plaques-from-brains-of-mice-within-hours The original paper: Rapid amyloid-β...
