Exploring Dark Energy and Dark Matter: A Programmer's Perspective

I am a computer programmer. Back in my college days (in the 80s) I took physics classes up to a modern physics class and mathematics up to differential equations. I have always been interested in physics and have been trying to understand some of the changes in the field since I left college. I find the concepts of dark energy and dark matter to be especially interesting.
