This Pete Cosey guitar solo is the weirdest thing I've ever heard. Saxophonist Dave Liebman said a good deal of cocaine was routinely consumed.

Science news on Phys.org
Not bad. That 12-string guitar (with drones ?) creates an interesting sound. Old Miles starts the phrase on horn then the other musicians elaborate. Cool, cocaine notwithstanding.

Some people find that to be music and some people do not. I find that parts of it seem to be music.

Here is another thought: That stuff may be tested to find if it will scare and repel wolves.

No drones. The string pairs are tuned to weird intervals. It's impossible to play anything that is normal,

It might scare dogs but not wolves. Paraphasing Jorge Luis Borges:
He understood his intimate destiny, that of wolf and not of ... dog.

Also very wierd. (But modern, and electronic, so not comparable.) but I love it.

(Not sure why link is busted. Here's the link, obfuscated:

Physicsforums doesn't like the & portion. What I do is give it an English title like this.

If we're going to include visual weirdness how about this new Kpop offering. Could it start a trend?

Incidentally, I just discovered the fretless guitar. I simply have to try that!

EDIT: His track is at the end.

Also, still think this one is hilarious. The scene show is half of it:

I'm not sure this one qualifies quite as weird enough in this thread's context. I love how they improvise and incorporate the theme from the Pink Panther though:

Can't be that weird. I listen to Al Di Meola (Elegant Gypsy). :-p

No that's what I meant. It was just an excuse to share it. Al De Meola is one of my favs too.

Harry used a 43 tone scale for his custom built instruments here
