Why don't you begin by giving us a frame work of your (general) understanding?

My general understanding is that it is a person or entity acting in good faith to a social or cultural event in concern for humanity.

If someone knows the subject better could you please explain it like you were talking to a 12 year old? That would probably help.

This might be helpful to you - as a tool to consider specific situations, group dynamics, or individual behavior?
