I made it through the night. Was able to get to sleep about 2AM. The Mexicans in my neighborhood were literally trying to be as loud as possible. They had bombs, Mexican music turned all the way up, people screaming for no reason, people driving by laying on their horns for no reason. I'm glad I'm not going to live forever. Humans suck.

Of course not. Its 1394!(And my hope is I'll be a grad student by the fall in this year!)

What can a grad student do before the discovery of Newtonian mechanics? o0)
you could discover them! ;)

Yeah, maybe I discover them and save all the grad students in the world from confusion!:D
Actually although discovering something new is very exciting and joyous, the joy of doing physics itself is good enough for me.

EDIT: oops...I interpreted "before" to mean "more important than"! Its amusing how we can sometimes think the hard way first!

I was only joking! Of course I don't think grad students all over the world, don't know what to do!
Don't you think the 1st of January isn't a proper day to be in a bad mood?

It was a joke for the age 1394 and 2015...the confusion dealt when you don't calibrate times, it's like talking with someone from the far past...Newton was not in 1394
or even when people in the West were suiciding in 2000 waiting for the Big Armagedon, even though Japan (and other eastern countries) had entered the new year without a mess...

Well, sometimes I'm really absent-minded and fall behind the things going on!
Anyway, it was only a joke! Its just that Iranians have become a bit sensitive because of the current struggles. I've been here long enough to know that people around here are friendly enough that they don't pay attention to such things. So I always try to be friendly too. In fact I see no reason to prevent us from being friends. But as I said, Iranians have become sensitive and for some of them who haven't been in contact with foreigners enough, its easy to get the wrong idea in such situations.
