SUMMARY

ANSYS-Maxwell is widely recognized for its accuracy in modeling electromagnetic systems, particularly among industry engineers. Comparisons with other software like COMSOL and LISA indicate that while Maxwell is effective, definitive accuracy assessments require simulation data versus actual data analysis. A relevant article on ScienceDirect provides insights into its performance metrics. Additionally, practical applications, such as rewinding a non-symmetric alternator on a motorcycle, highlight the software's utility in real-world projects.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of electromagnetic simulation principles
  • Familiarity with ANSYS-Maxwell software
  • Basic knowledge of COMSOL and LISA for comparative analysis
  • Experience with real-world engineering projects involving alternators
NEXT STEPS
  • Read the ScienceDirect article on ANSYS-Maxwell performance metrics
  • Explore detailed case studies comparing ANSYS-Maxwell with COMSOL and LISA
  • Investigate the process of rewinding non-symmetric alternators
  • Learn about simulation validation techniques in electromagnetic modeling
USEFUL FOR

Engineers and researchers involved in electromagnetic modeling, software developers working with simulation tools, and anyone interested in enhancing their understanding of ANSYS-Maxwell's capabilities and applications.

I've been using this software for a while for various problems/projects, but never actually experimented based on a simulation, and compared the simulation data vs. actual data.
I would love to get input of how accurate is this software is in-comparison to others like COMSOL/LISA?

If you are looking for a semi-real world project for Maxwell, look at this thread. It has to do with rewinding a non-symmetric alternator on a motorcycle.

Ther has been much diverse speculation as to the 'correct' approach but no one has come up with a definitive answer or done a simulation. If you decide to tackle this, note that there are several pertinent details scattered throughout the thread.
