SUMMARY

Scientists determined Avogadro's number through various precise measurement methods, as outlined in the referenced article. These methods include X-ray crystallography and gas density measurements, which allowed for the accurate calculation of the number of particles in a mole. The discussion emphasizes the complexity and historical significance of arriving at this fundamental constant in chemistry.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of mole concept in chemistry
  • Familiarity with X-ray crystallography techniques
  • Knowledge of gas laws and density calculations
  • Basic grasp of atomic theory and particle physics
NEXT STEPS
  • Research X-ray crystallography methods for determining molecular structures
  • Explore gas density measurement techniques in laboratory settings
  • Study the historical context of Avogadro's number and its implications in chemistry
  • Investigate the relationship between Avogadro's number and the ideal gas law
USEFUL FOR

Chemistry students, educators, and researchers interested in the historical and scientific methods used to determine fundamental constants in science.

I never had found the reasoning process by which scientists arrived at that precise Avogadro's number. I suppose it was a slow and painful process.
So, anyone knows the path they followed to arrive to this precise number?

I don't want anyone to explain me the meaning of that number.
I know this well already.
