SUMMARY

The glottis plays a crucial role in the production of stress and unstress sounds in English. In stressed sounds, the glottis is more open, allowing for greater airflow and vocal intensity, while in unstressed sounds, the glottis is narrower, resulting in reduced vocal prominence. This distinction is essential for understanding English phonetics and improving pronunciation skills. Research indicates that mastering these glottal adjustments can significantly enhance listening comprehension and speech clarity.

What research have you done to find the answer? What have you found?

I am very difficult to hear unstress sounds in English. I guess unstress sounds is made when glotis is more narrow.
