SUMMARY

The optimal spacing for wires on a 2.4 GHz parabolic grid antenna is determined by the frequency, with a maximum preferred gap of 1/10 wavelength. For 2.4 GHz, this translates to a maximum spacing of approximately 2 centimeters. This guideline ensures effective performance and signal integrity in antenna design.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of antenna design principles
  • Knowledge of frequency and wavelength calculations
  • Familiarity with parabolic grid antennas
  • Basic concepts of radio frequency (RF) engineering
NEXT STEPS
  • Research antenna design techniques for various frequencies
  • Learn about the impact of spacing on antenna performance
  • Explore the construction of parabolic grid antennas
  • Study RF signal propagation and its effects on antenna efficiency
USEFUL FOR

Antenna designers, RF engineers, hobbyists building wireless communication systems, and anyone interested in optimizing parabolic grid antenna performance.

Greetings,

How far apart should the wires be on a 2.4 GHz parabolic grid antenna?

Is it determined by the frequency?

Thanks

hi there,

1/10 wavelength is the max preferred. yes it is determined by frequency. ie the higher the freq the smaller the maximum gap between the grids.

so for any given freq you could have a solid reflector up to a spacing of 1/10 wavelength. On 2.4 GHz a max of ~ 2cm would be the norm.

cheers
Dave
