How to sell math/physics textbooks in Europe?

AI Thread Summary
Selling undergraduate physics and mathematics textbooks in Belgium has proven challenging due to the lack of demand for these specific titles in local universities. The seller has attempted platforms like Facebook Marketplace and eBay without success. Recommendations for finding buyers include exploring Amazon's second-hand book section, which may attract a more targeted audience. The seller is open to selling the books at a good price, emphasizing their excellent condition and the desire to clear space in their library.

Hello everyone,

I don't know if that's the correct place to ask this (didn't want to pollute the science and math textbooks recommendations), sorry if it is not.

I have undergraduate physics and mathematics textbooks that I am trying to sell. I live in Belgium and I bought textbooks recommended on physicsforums (mainly recommended textbooks in the US it seems).

I tried Facebook Marketplace and ebay without success because these books are not used by the belgian universities.

The books are in perfect conditions and I am willing to let them go for a good price. I have no use of them and they just take dust in my library.

Would you have some recommendations on how to find buyers in Europe (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany preferred)?

Thanks.

I usually look on amazon. They also sell second-hand books, so there must be sellers. It is certainly better than ebay or FB with their wide unspecific range of customers.

Thanks, I'll try that. :)

Hi, I have notice that Ashcroft, Mermin and Wei worked at a revised edition of the original solid state physics book (here). The book, however, seems to be never available. I have also read that the reason is related to some disputes related to copyright. Do you have any further information about it? Did you have the opportunity to get your hands on this revised edition? I am really curious about it, also considering that I am planning to buy the book in the near future... Thanks!
I’ve heard that in some countries (for example, Argentina), the curriculum is structured differently from the typical American program. In the U.S., students usually take a general physics course first, then move on to a textbook like Griffiths, and only encounter Jackson at the graduate level. In contrast, in those countries students go through a general physics course (such as Resnick-Halliday) and then proceed directly to Jackson. If the slower, more gradual approach is considered...
