Is c++ even used nowadays? I'm am currently learning it in school and I wonder if it's used in the corporate world.
C++ remains a critical programming language in today's corporate world, utilized for developing compilers, system tools, operating systems, and high-performance applications such as games and simulators. Despite the rise of higher-level languages like Java and Python, C++ offers unmatched speed and hardware control, making it indispensable for performance-sensitive tasks. Many industry professionals advocate for C++ due to its efficiency and capability to handle low-level programming tasks that other languages cannot. Knowledge of C++ is often a prerequisite for technical positions in software development.
PREREQUISITESSoftware developers, system programmers, game developers, and anyone interested in high-performance computing or low-level programming will benefit from this discussion.
I'm surprised that you would doubt it.AlvisPrabhu said:Is c++ even used nowadays? I'm am currently learning it in school and I wonder if it's used in the corporate world.
Why is it still in use?phinds said:I'm surprised that you would doubt it.
I don't even know how to begin to answer that. Why would it NOT still be in use?AlvisPrabhu said:Why is it still in use?
Because there are more higher level languages like Java, Python and etc.phinds said:I don't even know how to begin to answer that. Why would it NOT still be in use?
In what sense do you think that Java, for example, is "more higher" than C++ ?AlvisPrabhu said:Because there are more higher level languages like Java, Python and etc.
There are things you can access using C/++ that you can't in Java or Python.AlvisPrabhu said:Because there are more higher level languages like Java, Python and etc.
