The discussion revolves around the absence of a scheduled chat session, primarily due to Greg's unavailability to start it. Participants express frustration over the lack of chat, noting it disrupts their week. Conversations shift to personal anecdotes, including discussions about food, injuries, and humorous exchanges about spiders and smilies. There are concerns about Greg's well-being, with speculation about his whereabouts and whether he has been "abducted" by friends. The chat participants also engage in light-hearted banter about the movement of smilies and share experiences related to food poisoning from a McDonald's McGriddle. Overall, the thread captures a mix of humor, camaraderie, and a longing for the return of the chat sessions.

Are stamps a federal thing, or does each state print its own? I understand that US Post works in all US and I suppose stamps printed in Alaska are valid in Florida, but is their printing/production centralized?
There are sometimes special stamps printed to commemorate states and/or historic events in states, but the stamps are all produced by the US Postal service.

The reason that so many varieties of stamps are produced is that the USPS encourages stamp collecting. The stamps cost little to print and distribute, and every time a collector buys a book of stamps or a block of stamps to add to their collection, the stamps go out of circulation with no service required on the part of the USPS.

It started with a McDonald's McGriddle for breakfast Friday morning. It was all downhill from there. I had to leave work Friday and spent all yesterday recovering and sipping on ginger ale.

Eep! At least tell me you were able to get Vernors as your ginger ale!

It's really good in theory - a piece of sausage wrapped in a pancake.

Oh MIH, a McGriddle?!? No wonder you got sick. Those things are nasty.

I hope you're feeling better.

I'm OK now, but I think it will be a long time before I visit McDonald's again. I should have been wary of that one because it's built into a gas station. Not one of your more upscale Mickey D's.

Unless the collector decides to give up his collection, or at least that part of it. I just mailed several letters (bill payments actually), each with 20c + 22c stamps from the 1980s to make up the current 42c rate.

Fuzzyfelt, good to see you. Hope you feel better soon.

I guess we need to start sending get-well-soon cards in the postcard club.

Some Pacific island country does the same. Not Bora Bora. Tuvalu perhaps.
