Law of conservation of energy

    Does the law of conservation of energy make valid predictions when energy is converted from gravitational potential energy into kinetic energy?

    Sure. One example would be the storage of electrical energy by pumping water uphill into a dammed storage lake. What kind of energy source would want to take advantage of such an energy storage mechanism? :smile:
