SUMMARY

This discussion focuses on sourcing 10L and 20L equipment for solid phase peptide synthesis, highlighting the Buchi brand as a preferred option despite its high price. Participants emphasize the necessity of borosilicate glass for such equipment, listing various trade names including Pyrex and Duran. Additionally, the conversation touches on the regulatory requirements for purchasing such equipment, suggesting that users may need to establish a company to comply with legal standards. The mention of Temu as a supplier for fractional distillation setups indicates alternative purchasing avenues.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of solid phase peptide synthesis techniques
  • Familiarity with borosilicate glass properties and applications
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for chemical equipment procurement
  • Experience with sourcing laboratory equipment and suppliers
NEXT STEPS
  • Research suppliers of borosilicate glass and their trade names
  • Investigate the process of establishing a company for laboratory equipment purchases
  • Explore alternative brands and models for solid phase peptide synthesis equipment
  • Learn about fractional distillation setups and their applications in peptide synthesis
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for production chemists, laboratory managers, and anyone involved in peptide synthesis who requires equipment sourcing and regulatory compliance knowledge.

I would like to know where can I find a 10L 20L equipment for solid phase peptide synthesis.

I see Buchi brand design is great, but the price is too high. I find this model looks nice and pirce is acceptable but I need more options.

If somebody is working in industry as production chemist please help me.

What you need generally is borosilicate glass.

Borosilicate glass is sold under various trade names, including Borosil, Duran, Pyrex, Glassco, Supertek, Suprax, Simax, Bellco, Marinex (Brazil), BSA 60, BSC 51 (by NIPRO), Heatex, Endural, Schott, Refmex, Kimax, Gemstone Well, United Scientific, and MG (India).

You'd probably need to create a company and register with the authorities for buying things like that as they have several obvious nefarious uses.

EDIT: Though once this is done Temu sells complete fractional distillation setups. It's a little like ordering 5 kg of aluminum powder though, and naively thinking no one will be waiting at the post box.
