1.what is lorentz transformations ? what are the uses of it ?

2.there are 2 galilean transformations equations .what are the uses of them ? are they useful to find the velocity of the objects at different reference frames or they have anyother applications/uses?

1. Lorentz transformation is describing the relations between measurements of 2 observers. These observers can measure various elapsed times or distances between the same events, if these observers are in relative motion. It is a relativistic transformation.

2. Galilean transformation does the same thing as Lorentz transformation, but it is not relativistic, so it is valid (to an extent) only for small relative speeds, as a good approximation.
