Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the feasibility of pursuing an M.Sc in Physics through correspondence while simultaneously enrolling in a regular B.Ed program. It touches on the challenges and considerations involved in managing both academic commitments.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Conceptual clarification

Main Points Raised

  • One participant suggests that it is possible to pursue both degrees simultaneously, provided that the M.Sc includes a theory thesis or dissertation that can be supervised remotely.
  • Another participant warns that while it is feasible, the B.Ed program is typically labor-intensive, and the M.Sc is generally more challenging than a bachelor's degree.
  • Personal experiences are shared, with one participant mentioning they completed both degrees, but not concurrently.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants express differing views on the practicality of managing both programs at the same time, with some supporting the idea and others cautioning against it due to the demands of each program.

Contextual Notes

Considerations regarding the intensity and workload of both programs are mentioned, but specific assumptions or limitations are not fully explored.

Who May Find This Useful

Individuals interested in pursuing advanced degrees in physics and education, particularly those considering distance learning options.

Is it possible to do M.Sc physics in correspondance and B.Ed in regular at the same time??

Of course it is possible ... you'd have to do a theory thesis or dissertation for the MSc and find a supervisor prepared to do it by remote control.

"Correspondence" learning, these days, is called "distance learning" - and it is all done over the internet.

I'd advise against it - BEd is usually labor intensive, and MSc is usually an order of magnitude harder than a bachelors.

Thank you sir.

No worries - I've done both myself - one at a time. Word.

Very kind of you sir. I will also try my best to do both.

Good luck and have fun :)
