In the context of electromagnetic wave propagation in ferromagnetic medium, what is meant by magnetostatic spin wave? This terminology one came across in the wave modulation in ferromagnetic medium.
Thanks in well advance..

In the ground state of a ferromagnet all the spins are aligned. In an excited state some of the spins will be misaligned. But since neighboring spins have an interaction, instead of single particle excitations you'll get collective excitations in the form of a wave. These are called spin waves or magnons, analogous to the phonons you get from the lattice vibrations.

As you said if the excitations are in the form of magnons then how solitons can be excited in the system?
What is meant by magnetostatic spin waves?
