Homework Help Overview

The discussion revolves around understanding vector operations, specifically the cross product and dot product, in the context of a test review. Participants are exploring how to compute these products given scalar multiples of vectors.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Assumption checking

Approaches and Questions Raised

  • Participants are attempting to recall the methods for calculating the cross product and dot product of scaled vectors. Questions are raised about the nature of the vectors involved and their properties.

Discussion Status

The discussion is ongoing, with some participants providing insights into the properties of the vectors and referencing external resources. There is a lack of consensus on the specific calculations, and multiple interpretations of the vector definitions are being explored.

Contextual Notes

Participants are working under the constraints of preparing for a test, which may influence their approach and understanding of the vector operations. There is also a mention of potential confusion regarding the components and definitions of the vectors involved.

i'm reviewing for a test and I can't remember how to do the cross product of (2A)x(3B)
or how to find the angle theta when given components. or dot product: 2A . 3B

Physics news on Phys.org
Are (2A) and (3B) normal vectors? If so, the link in your own post will tell you
how to do a cross product. If not, what are they?

they are and i already know
Rz=Az+Bz
Ry=Ay+By
Rz=Az+Bz

but I am not sure how to do (2A)x(3C)

or (2A)x(3B)
