I am working toward my B.S. in Physics and Chemistry with the hope that both disciplines will converge to a good platform for me to pursue material science. My university doesn't offer a curriculum for mat. sci. and I was advised to do both (if I could pull it off.) The advantage, thus far, has been the ability to approach problems in both fields with a multi-faceted approach that ultimately contributes to a more fundamental understanding of the material. That said, I have not been able to predict the opportunities that I'll have after my undergrad. work is finished. Does anybody have an idea of the advantages/disadvantages of my experience as it relates a future in material science?
