Hello Wizards!

I need to produce specially pure iron shapes for a research project.

As you may know, pure iron is hard to find.

Small pure iron bars are the easiest.

Is it possible to melt and cast these small pure iron bars into other shapes,

without the iron losing its remarkable magnetis properties?

Since the melting point of iron (1538 C) is higher than the Curie point (770 C), the recast iron will lose its original magnetism. After the iron has cooled below the Curie point, it can be re-magnetized.
