Modeling Composites in Explicit dynamics. [Ansys]

Click For Summary
Modeling composites in Ansys for explicit dynamics can be challenging, especially when dealing with multilayer structures. Users suggest modeling the composite in Ansys Classic, meshing it, and then creating a macro file to import into Workbench for mesh definition. There is uncertainty about the effectiveness of this method, and guidance on executing it is limited. Many users have found YouTube examples helpful, but practical application remains unclear. Seeking advice from experienced users is essential for successfully modeling composites in this context.

Hello,
I am trying to model an explicit dynamics model in Ansys, to study impact of different objects. I cannot figure out how to model a composite with several layers in workbench.

I have been trying to achieve this for over a week now. I was told that I can model the composite in Ansys Classic, mesh it, and then write a macro file. then use the macro file in Workbench to define the mesh. I have no idea if this will work, or how to even do it.

I have seen several examples on youtube of composites, but not sure how to model one?

Thanks in advance,

Any idea? thx

My idea is that I want to use immerse Whitetail Antlers in a fishtank to measure their volumetric displacement (the Boone and Crockett system is the current record measurement standard to place in a juxtaposition with) I would use some sight glass plumbed into the side of the tank to get the change in height so that I can multiply by the tank cross-section. Simple Idea. But... Is there a simple mechanical way to amplify the height in the sight glass to increase measurement precision...
