SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on resources for preparing for the Physics Olympiad, specifically the F=ma exam and the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO). Recommended study materials include the OpenStax College Physics and University Physics Volume 1 textbooks, which are suitable for high school students despite being at the college level. Additionally, Khan Academy offers online courses that can aid in understanding fundamental physics concepts. These resources are particularly beneficial for students who have not previously taken a physics class.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of high school-level physics concepts
  • Familiarity with algebra and basic mathematical principles
  • Access to OpenStax College Physics and University Physics textbooks
  • Ability to navigate online learning platforms like Khan Academy
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore the OpenStax College Physics textbook for foundational physics concepts
  • Study the University Physics Volume 1 for more advanced topics relevant to the IPHO
  • Utilize Khan Academy's physics courses for interactive learning and practice problems
  • Research additional textbooks and resources specifically tailored for the F=ma exam preparation
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for 9th-grade students preparing for the Physics Olympiad, educators seeking resources for their students, and anyone interested in self-studying physics without prior formal education in the subject.

Hello, can anyone give me the names of some textbooks or other study materials that can help me self study for the physics olympiad. I have never taken a physics class as I am only in 9th grade. My main aim for now is just to pass the F=ma exa ( The initial olympiad exam in the US) so if you can first list the basic textbooks that can help in F=ma exam then give me some textbooks that help me pass the IPHO (topic specific). I haven't learn calculus either but no need to send me textbooks for that because I'm already self-studying that.

Thanks for all responses.
