SUMMARY

The discussion centers on identifying a specific type of nut used to connect a threaded part to a syringe needle. Participants suggest that the nut in question may be a "luer lock," a common connector in medical applications. A link to a luer lock adapter is provided as a potential solution. The conversation highlights the importance of precise terminology in identifying specialized components.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of medical connectors, specifically luer locks
  • Familiarity with syringe components and their applications
  • Basic knowledge of threaded fittings
  • Ability to interpret product specifications and images
NEXT STEPS
  • Research "luer lock connector specifications" for detailed understanding
  • Explore suppliers of medical fittings, focusing on luer lock adapters
  • Investigate the differences between various types of syringe connectors
  • Learn about the applications of luer locks in medical and laboratory settings
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for medical professionals, biomedical engineers, and anyone involved in the procurement or use of medical connectors and syringe components.

Hello everyone,
I am looking for one special type of nut (see image) for weeks without success. It is used to connect threaded part and syringe needle. This thing is driving me nuts. Is there any place to get similar ones or what is the exact name of nut in this shape?

Thanks!

Welcome to the PF.

What do you mean by syringe needle? Is this for a medical application?

I've needed a lot of injections and IV recently and none looked like your photo. They all looked like the luer lock in post #3 which seems slightly different.

Is the one in your photo broken?

Would this do?

Had my central air system checked when it sortta wasn't working. I guess I hadn't replaced the filter. Guy suggested I might want to get a UV filter accessory. He said it would "kill bugs and particulates". I know UV can kill the former, not sure how he thinks it's gonna murder the latter. Now I'm finding out there's more than one type of UV filter: one for the air flow and one for the coil. He was suggesting we might get one for the air flow, but now we'll have to change the bulb...
